Post his MBA in 1989, he joined ICI India Limited and worked in various functions such as Sales, Distribution, Marketing, Supply Chain & SBU Head in various businesses ranging from Rubber chemicals, Paints, Acrylics & Uniqema
He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Delhi College of Engineering & an MBA in Marketing from the prestigious Faculty of Management Studies ,Delhi.

He completely turnaround a company which was incurring a loss of 5 Million USD in 2002 to a firm which was making an operating profit of 20 Million USD in 2008. Dr Ghosh has a wide breadth of managerial experience across several ICI businesses over 35 years. He has significant experience in Manufacturing, R&D Management and General Management experience. From 1995 till his retirement in March 2013 he has worked as General Manager, Chief Executive and Managing Director in the Explosives and the Speciality Chemicals businesses of ICI India and subsequently Croda India. Dr Ghosh was member of Croda Asia Board and actively managed the Croda JVs in Indonesia and South Korea.
Post his retirement, he has started his own management consultancy firm focusing on M&A activities and HR and Leadership Training. He continues to be an active member of CII and is the Chairman of CII Subcommittee on Raw Material Feedstock for growth of Speciality Chemicals industry in India.
